Mark and Steve, members of Anglesea Bowls Club in Victoria, Australia, were invited by the club’s committee in late 2022 to enhance the operation of their barefoot bowls activities.
Historically, the club faced challenges managing demand, particularly during busy holiday periods, dealing with issues such as no-shows, weary volunteers, and potential customers struggling with the booking and payment process.
Upon thoughtful consideration of these challenges, Steve and Mark identified the core issue: the absence of upfront payment for bookings. Despite searching online for an existing solution, they found nothing that precisely met the unique requirements of bowling clubs. Off-the-shelf booking systems lacked the necessary customisation and underscored the general absence of fit-for-purpose systems for bowls clubs.
Determined to address this gap, they partnered with Lightsail, experienced web developers, and embarked on designing Bowls Club HQ.
Our aim is to foster the growth of Lawn Bowling in Australia by offering affordable solutions to Bowls Clubs of all sizes. These solutions save time, boost revenue, and entice a new generation of bowlers. Additionally, we strive to alleviate the workload on club volunteers, promoting sustainable practices that enhance the day-to-day experience for club members and social bowlers alike.
